SCFG Artwork Flyer Collection Announcement:

If you see these flyers hanging up around town, here is a little bit more information on why, who, what, where, and when!

Why, Why, Why

We want to create a budget with fundraising efforts from a collective effort to raise money for support in local efforts of financial relief. The holidays arriving could benefit from a small effort of prepared volunteers, events for fundraising towards a better cause, and fundraised "giveaways" to help support local business and talent in our community while having fun! We will be creating new ways to fundraise throughout the year and updating an online community with this blog: www.seymourcommunitygroup.blogspot.com!

What - types of things will you be doing?

Creating events and efforts to raise money for community sponsored fundraising efforts. After creating our bylaws and selecting our officers to become an official group - this announcement is going to be posted, while the other tab on the home page of the blog called "Group Agenda" is where you will find more information on this if you are interested. We want to sort through and select our efforts to encourage and help will be based on overall budget, impact, and targeted audience with requested volunteer group size. We want to create a place where we can gather as a resource to help our community raise funds for personal reasons and things that we want to see in return from them to create a community effort.
The example of this is to volunteer for the next effort, to attend a sponsored event, to provide a donation when you can, to participate in a local event. We may request a type of term of commitment we want to see you invest back into your community while we pull together and help your cause, effort, reason of request.
There will be ongoing projects that may need support. Those will be posted here on the blog and expansion into other social media will be expected to get communication opened with our causes.
We want to have fun, raising money and healthy participation, for our community!

Who - is going to be involved?

Seymour Community residents are welcome to join. If you have a personal criminal history, if you could please inform us of any restraints that you may have with children or elderly, that would be appreciated. You will be subject to an open record search.

When can I suggest a fundraising effort?

We will prepare a form and place it in a tab on the blog website when that is available.
We want to encourage participation and will base these sponsorships by season. If there are ongoing efforts that can be done, small groups will form and continue those efforts. The idea is to create a reliable budget to assist with learning small job skills to document and help others in a time of need (from home business ideas with the fundraising efforts expanding to an eBay account or Etsy account, etc.) to hold as a resource. Project management skills, budgeting, and other resources can be made available to raise efforts for the local pantry and education system.

Where is this being held?

Seymour Community Fundraising Groups (SCFG) will be hosting their meetings virtually until a larger group can participate. Then we will post a venue to host a meeting to get participation, events, and other community announcements together for an in-house pot luck. Can't have a meeting without food! The larger the group the more that can be done!

Summary

This is just a friendly reminder if we want to see change and prevention in our community - we have to support each other and become available to help so that in our time of need, we will be best assisted by those that truly do care about us. We are productive with our time and encourage growth within the group. I expect to see training groups, events of creativity, and local reasons to get out there and shop around!
